Currently, we're looking for the role of business controller that will be responsible for delivering the rolling forecast & budgeting, commercial and impact management, cost management and business advisory:

  • Rolling forecast & budgeting translates strategy into a comprehensive control framework and establishes financial and non-financial target setting suited for cascading in our target operating model. Next to this the group budget cycle for the current fiscal year and the forecast of a three-year business planning period including sensitivity analysis and scenario planning is realized

  • Commercial and impact management sets and adjusts central pricing policies for all business lines based on market circumstances, historical trend analysis and growth opportunities. This capability also realizes monitoring and providing advice on commercial and impact performance, provides insight into product performance (risk, return and impact) and steers on continuous improvement from a customer-, partner-, societal-, co-worker- and financial perspective

  • Cost management sets and adjusts central cost management policies for external FTE’s and discretionary costs, forecasts FTE’s, monitors capability building and provides advice on the transformation and maturing of our operating model at group level. Lastly this capability provides (unsolicited) support on deep dives on areas of cost improvement.

  • Business advisory is a broader capability with several responsibilities: appraisal of business cases and benefit tracking, providing opinions on deviations with respect to policies (e.g., loan envelopes) or material strategic (IT)-investments (e.g., > EUR 2mln), providing support on value creation and business opportunities, providing support on portfolio management (M&A and divestures) and lastly ensuring ad hoc-reporting and unsolicited advice for the Core Management Team Belgium and the Executive Board in a timely fashion.

This is complemented by:

  • Extensive hands-on experience in controlling or accounting functions, preferably at financial institutions
  • A strong understanding of accounting standards, regulations, and rulings
  • Highly developed analytic, financial modelling and reporting skills
  • Language skills in French, Dutch and English (verbal and written)
  • An ability to lead or play a role in significant financial projects
  • A Master’s degree, preferably CPA (RA), EMFC (RC) or a comparable professional expertise (MBA, CMA etc.)

The team
You will become part of a team of seven business controllers with mixed backgrounds. Due to cultural diversity and the international scope, our team language is English. The entire team reports directly to the Group Director Controlling who is accountable for all group and country business control activities and who is responsible for the Group Business Planning Process.
