Currently, we're looking for an experienced finance professional driven to develop the Belgium finance team, supporting the sound financial performance of Triodos’ Belgium branch, while helping to grow the overall maturity of the CFO function as well.

How you will make a difference

  • You lead and grow the Belgium finance team, in line with the overall CFO strategy and CFO business plan. You are an integral member of the Group Finance & Reporting leadership team and support collaboration of your team with the Group Controlling and Group Tax functions
  • You are the first point of contact and responsible for Belgium regulators especially the NBB, the Belgium external auditor and Belgium tax authorities
  • You will oversee, and are ultimately responsible, for the timely financial, management and tax reporting of Triodos Bank Belgium while adhering to applicable Group Policies and local (tax) regulations
  • You plan and deliver financial systems and process changes which strengthen Belgium regulatory and tax compliance
  • The local Business Controller has a functional line to you.

You are an experienced finance manager, having a broad professional background, and worked in an international environment. As an integral member of the Group Finance & Reporting team you also oversee specific Belgium requirements. This way, both uniformity across the Group and understanding of the Belgium context is secured. You can combine a good understanding of the (necessary) details of (regulatory, tax) reporting with a holistic perspective of the application to both Triodos Bank Belgium and Triodos Group.

You are a critical finance voice to the Belgium Management Team and a coach to your Finance team. A coach in executing their core responsibilities and in building and fostering collaboration with Controlling and Tax. In your local role you will participate in the relevant local committees. You are a team-player within the Finance & Reporting leadership team and will be pivotal to drive the change in the Belgian Team as part of the wider CFO Finance & Reporting organisation change agenda. You know how to use your ‘growth mindset’ to help others grow.

This is complemented by:

  • Master’s degree in finance / financial accounting or comparable by experience in a relevant field, and a good understanding of IFRS
  • 10+ years of work experience in the financial sector; experience in a finance-leadership and managerial role is preferred, proven relevant experience with Belgium tax regulations and Belgium GAAP
  • Experience in working in a complex, international (matrix) environment and able to constructively deal with possible conflicting interests
  • Fluent in English, French and Dutch
  • Using strong analytical and systematic thinking skills to achieve results.
  • Strong leadership skills to lead a team of specialists in a rapidly changing organisation

The Belgium Finance team of 4 FTE forms an integral part of the Group Finance & Reporting function. You will be member of the Finance & Reporting management team and report directly to the Group Director.
