Accounting Specialist Triodos Bank Belgium

You are an experienced finance professional driven to develop the Belgium finance team, supporting the sound financial performance of Triodos’ Belgium branch, while helping to grow the overall maturity of the CFO function as well.

Take action

• You are an engaged member of the Triodos Bank Belgium finance team and primarily responsible for all relevant accounting processes: you take care of the administration of Triodos Bank Belgium in all its aspects
• You contribute to all external reporting of Triodos Bank Belgium and support the Head of Finance in communicating with external stakeholders such as the Belgium regulator, tax authorities and the external accountant
• In addition to the account processes, you have a broad understanding of other relevant CFO processes such as tax
• You enjoy acting as a back-up for the other team members, and your team members will back you up. Therefore, you train them on the job
• You have a learning mindset and like to take initiative to optimize processes within your reach or to participate in projects.

You communicate easily, both verbal and in writing, and you look at how you

can find or create a common interest. You work accurately and in a structured

fashion. At the same time, you look out-of-the-box for new ways to improve activities. You can work in an international organisation and are able to manage both functional and hierarchical lines.

This is complemented by:

• Bachelor degree in finance / financial accounting or a comparable relevant field and good understanding of IFRS and Belgium GAAP.
• 5+ years of work experience in the financial sector, for example as a (senior) financial accountant of a medium to large organisation.
• Great sense of responsibility, coping well with fluctuating work pressure and flexible to support colleagues.
• Good knowledge of Excel, Exact, Abacus and / or Tagetik is a plus.
• Due to the working environment, fluency in Dutch or French, and English.
